Get to know the Author

L. Hadley was born and raised near the mountains in Salt Lake City, Utah, which is still home today. Luckily, she had a brief stint in Texas and fell in love with BBQ, Buc-ee’s and the whisperings of the cicadas—and often visits to keep from forgetting it all.

L. Hadley is never far from a pile of books, whether it’s her own collection, an e-reader, a bookstore, or library. She’s an avid reader and will talk your ear off if you let her on what she’s currently reading—or her longtime favorites. Getting her to talk about her own series, though . . . let’s just say she’ll need to work on her marketing skills.

She’ll often say the DragonLance series was what got her interested in reading; however, listening to her teachers read stories in elementary school really hooked her on stories. She fell into the Twilight craze, binge-read Harry Potter only when the midnight release for The Deathly Hallows was imminent, and couldn’t get enough of dystopian YA series. Now, she wants to write them full time.

You might find her hiking local trails or wrecking her knees playing soccer and running. When she’s not outdoors, she’s probably piecing together a puzzle or sudoku, playing the piano badly, or enjoying old-school video games.
